Literature Text

Sweet autumn morning, I am walking through the trees hearing the leaves crinkle beneath my feet as I feel the brisk wind hug my cheeks. Going down a path that I haven't wandered through before, I hear a tone so strange yet so sweet flow through the air. I wander around searching for the source but end up back at the beginning of my course. I can't help but be in awe of this mystery that lies before me. I bite my cheek deep in thought wondering where on earth this sweet sound is coming from. I wander deeper into the woods, forgetting about my set path and then just before me a grand tree lays in my wake. I stand still thinking only to realize the oddness of the tree. It is shaped all twisted and gnarled by the wind through the years, each twist a new story, each curve a new beginning. I stare at this tree thinking, 'My, look how the universe has treated you, pushed and pulled you in every direction yet you are still so grand and beautiful with every abnormality.' As I stand there thinking out loud, the music changes and sounds far more warm, more inviting. I step closer and closer hoping for something amazing and then there is silence. I look all around thinking I've done something wrong but then the ground beneath me shakes. The tree begins to open and inside a shimmering light draws me in. I step forward wishing to be one with it. It is calling to me, whistling a sharp sound. I want to go to it. I want to help it and then the rumbling stops. I feel my torso get warm and then I suddenly feel damp. I look down to see that my once green shirt is now brown. As I take my hand to my side and pull away, the brown turns to red and I then feel a sudden sharp pain. I look in horror to see the tree has lodged itself inside of me. I can't move. I can't scream. I..I feel..I feel, no, wait. Now I can't feel a thing but now I hear something. That sweet melody from before. It plays its death song. I see another come through the trees, mesmerized like I was. Wait. Was there someone just before me that I didn't see because I was hypnotized by the bloody tree? Oh, wait. There's more. They come from all around. The ground begins to shake again and again until we all realize our grave mistake. Then once the tree has stopped, there's a sudden chill in the air. We realize now it has caught its main course and once we see that sweet warm glow from before, our final fate will come. It won't be swift but I assure you that when the final blow did come I didn't feel a thing for my whole body was numb.

Omigosh Nic, your writing is actually pretty good! I think a few parts could be re-worded a bit better, but the detailing was still fairly good too :)
